Clearing agricultural land is the demining task with the clearest return: a cleared hectare produces a crop every year afterwards.

How the work is sequenced
Non-technical survey first: interviews, records and observation to determine which land is genuinely suspected and which is assumed contaminated without evidence. This step alone releases very large areas, because the suspected zone is always drawn wider than the real one.
Technical survey next, sampling the remaining area to confirm.
Then clearance of what is actually contaminated, using mechanical flails and ploughs where the ground allows, since machines cover ground far faster than manual teams and farmland is exactly the terrain where they work.
The verification requirement
Land is handed back with documentation, and a farmer needs to trust that document enough to send a person onto the field. That trust is built by consistent standards and independent quality control, not by announcements.
The scale point
This is a decade-long task. Measuring it by hectares released per month, published openly, is what keeps it honest and fundable.
