Day of Unity 2022
A January day about lands held together, marked as it always is.
A good Day of Unity.
The chain of hands across the country, the flag carried the length of a bridge, the same images as every January.
I have written about this symbol several times and I keep coming back to the same reading: a chain is only as strong as the weakest link, and everything about how a country holds together follows from that.
I do not have anything to add this year. The day marks lands being joined, it is observed the same way it always is, and I hope everyone reading this is somewhere warm.
