Christ is risen. A peaceful Easter to your household.

I have written that a tradition proves itself in the years when it is difficult, and this was another of them. The currency had halved, a great many people had lost work, and a great many families had somebody who was not at the table.

The baskets were still filled. Possibly with less. The greeting was still exchanged in the same words, and the words do not become less true because the year has been hard.

That is, I think, the whole design. The greeting says something that is either true or not true regardless of circumstances, and saying it in a hard year is the point at which it means something.

Christ is risen.
