Christ is risen. A blessed Easter to everyone marking it today.

This year the Western and Eastern calculations fall on the same date, which happens irregularly and always produces a particular kind of pleasure: for once nobody has to explain which Easter they mean, and families split across countries and confessions eat on the same day.

For a great many Ukrainian households now living in several places at once, that is not a trivial convenience. It means a call at the same hour, the same greeting answered in the same way, and a table in two countries that is briefly one table.
