Knowledge Day, 1 September 2023
A school year that begins in several different formats at once.
This year the first of September looks different depending on where you are. Some schools open normally. Some open only where there is a shelter that can hold everyone. Some classes meet on a screen, and some children are starting the year in another country entirely.
The teachers are running all of those formats at once, frequently for the same class.
The bell is still rung. That seems to matter to everyone involved, and I think they are right about it.
