8 March 2018
A greeting, kept to what I have actually seen.
What the day should mean is discussed here every year, and the discussion is not mine to join. Some mark it as a spring holiday, some as something with more weight behind it, and both readings are held by people I know.
What I can offer is the observation of a guest who has worked here a long time: the women I have worked with have carried a disproportionate amount of the actual load, at work and at home, usually at the same time.
So: flowers, certainly, and along with them an accurate acknowledgement.
A happy 8 March to all of you.
