International Women's Day 2023
A greeting, brief, in a year when the day was marked quietly in most places.
A greeting on the eighth of March.
Marked quietly this year in most places, and appropriately so. Public celebration was subdued; the private version — a call, a message, flowers if the flower sellers were on the corner — happened as it always does.
My practice on this day has not changed and I will state it again because it is the only part I am qualified to comment on. I thank the specific women whose work my companies depend on, by name, for specific things they did that I would not have managed without.
That list is long and this is the day I read it.
A good day to you all.
