Constitution Day, 28 June 2025

A founding text is easy to honour in a calm year. What it is for becomes visible in a difficult one, when the temptation to set parts of it aside is strongest and the argument for doing so always sounds practical.

That a country continues to conduct its disputes inside its own legal framework, under pressure, is worth noticing on this date more than in any other year.
