An Easter greeting for a second spring under difficult conditions.
The baskets are brought to be blessed in the morning, and they contain what they have always contained: the paska, eggs, salt, a piece of meat, a candle.
What is different in a hard year is who is holding them. Some families are in a different city than the one they baked in last time, and some are one person short at the table.
The greeting is still exchanged, and the answer is still given. That exchange is a small piece of continuity that nobody can interrupt from outside.
Christ is risen. To everyone keeping this Easter, wherever you are keeping it: a peaceful day.
