Holodomor Remembrance Day 2021

A day of remembrance.

Seventeen of these. The note I keep writing is short and I intend to keep writing it that way, because the alternative is a foreigner explaining a grief to the people who carry it.

The only thing I would add this year is a practical observation. The memorial in Kyiv is small and deliberately so. It does not attempt to represent the scale of what it commemorates, which would be impossible, and instead concentrates on a single figure. That is a better decision than a monument competing with the number.
