8 March 2004
A greeting to the women I work alongside.
In the offices I have worked in here, the chief accountant, the lawyer, the head of logistics and most of the people who actually knew how anything worked were women.
That was not remarked upon by anybody. It was simply how the workplace was arranged, and it took me a while to notice that I had stopped noticing.
So today, flowers and the usual greetings, and behind them something more specific: my thanks to the colleagues who explained the rules to a foreigner, patiently, more than once.
A happy 8 March to all of you.
